Maisey, Heff and Rory travel from Bedford to Andorra in a Banger!
Team
Postman Pat, his big Ginger Cat and a lanky brat
Team captain:
Will Maisey
About
From the slope of Goldington Road to the winding mountain roads of Andorra, three Bedford Blues teammates are swapping the rugby pitch for a four-day banger rally in support of the Blues Foundation. Will Maisey, Oisin Heffernan and Rory Ward are taking on the challenge armed with little more than questionable navigation skills, a bargain motor, and the kind of team spirit usually reserved for match day.
Over four days, hundreds of miles and who knows how many service station coffees, the boys will battle breakdowns, border crossings and each other’s music choices as they drive across Europe in the name of a fantastic cause. The real question is not whether the car will survive the journey, it’s whether the three teammates will still be speaking by the time they reach Andorra.
Known for putting their bodies on the line (Maisey less so) for the Blues every weekend, this time the challenge comes off the field. From dodgy directions to mechanical disasters waiting around every corner, the Blues Foundation Banger Rally promises chaos, comedy and plenty of unforgettable moments. One thing is certain: there will be stories to tell when they return… assuming they all make it back together.
Every mile driven and every donation made helps support the incredible work of the Blues Foundation Charity within the local community. So please get behind Will, Oisin and Rory as they attempt to conquer Europe in a car that probably shouldn’t leave Bedford in the first place.
